Friday, February 8th

Next week we have PE on Tuesday.

Dear Parents,

We had quite a week of winter weather! It looks like it is going to warm up next week, but please remind your child to dress for the weather.

Our parent/ teacher conferences are next week.  I look forward to meeting with you during our scheduled time on February 11th or 13th.  If you have not had a chance to sign up yet, please do so.  Thank you!

On Monday, February 11th, we will have a guest speaker, Mrs. Pam Kutchen, from North Metro Fire Rescue.  She will talk to our students about fire safety and the importance of practicing fire drills at home. Your child will be coming home with a fire drill planning sheet. Please take some time to complete this activity and talk to your child about what they learned.

We are looking forward to our field trip on Thursday, February 28th to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  Thank you to those of you who have returned your permission slip and fee. This is my current list of chaperones for the trip: Amber Gray, Dana Harris, Karen Hunter, Becky Jones, and Heidi Siguaw.  If you do not see your name and hope to join us, please let me know.

Valentine’s Day is on Thursday of next week! We will not have a class party on this day, but we will enjoy learning about the holiday and exchanging Valentines with classmates.  We will have a spring class party on Friday, March 22nd from 1:30 to 2:30.

If your child chooses to bring Valentine cards to school, they need to have one for each child in our class. Valentines should be brought to school on February 14th.  I will provide a container for them to collect their Valentines.   Handmade cards are encouraged.
